INSIGHTS

Baltic 112 by Baltic yachts.

Designed primarily as a fast, easy to use, family cruising yacht, the Baltic 112’s experienced owner clearly has more than an eye on the racecourse. He’s employed in-vogue naval architect Malcolm McKeon to give the yacht the edge it needs and alongside experienced skipper John Walker there’s potential here for a podium finish wherever she competes.

Award-winning interior specialist Adam Lay has produced a stunning limed oak accommodation finish to give this exciting cruiser/racer a stylish touch of luxury below.

Liara’s large, comfortable cockpit and spectacular full width deck saloon provide the focal point of her accommodation and a seamless transition for inside/outside living in the warm climes for which she is intended. The cockpit, which can be set up for dining, sun bathing and relaxing while sailing, is protected by a stylish hard-top bimini supported by removable posts.
The entire structure can be removed to save weight for racing. The cockpit is devoid of winches and running rigging with all sailing controls positioned aft of the steering positions, making the cockpit a super-safe place to relax while racing or cruising.

NAVAL ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN

The Baltic 68 is a powerful easy enjoyable performance sailor that can be handled by just two people. Baltic Yachts has used the latest rig and sail technology to make this yacht easy and rewarding to sail. The rig stands without runners or backstays and instead she is equipped with Doyle sails designed with structured Luff Technology that adds support into the sails themselves and reduced the headstay sag and stay tension.
