ALIA YACHTS | PATEA
Built by Turkish shipyard Alia Yachts and delivered in 2012, the 29m PATEA is a sophisticated Solent-rigged performance sloop that combines modern sailing technology with comfortable long-range cruising capability.
Key Features
• Fast performance bluewater cruiser with four guest cabins
• Protected cockpit dining area seating up to 8–10 guests
• Advanced sail-handling technology including in-boom furling
• Large aft sunpad with flexible alfresco dining arrangement
• Spacious swim platform with custom Warwick-designed davit
Designed by Warwick Yacht Design, PATEA was conceived as a fast and capable bluewater sailing yacht equally suited to Mediterranean cruising and extended offshore passages. Her lightweight composite construction and advanced rig configuration provide impressive sailing performance while maintaining the comfort expected of a modern cruising yacht. Following a refit in 2021, she continues to present as a highly capable and well-maintained sailing yacht.
On deck, PATEA’s layout has been carefully designed to balance sailing efficiency with relaxed outdoor living. The guest cockpit is clean and line-free, protected by an extended coachroof with skylights that creates a comfortable shaded space for outdoor dining. This area comfortably seats eight to ten guests, offering a secure and enjoyable environment while underway or at anchor. Aft, twin elevated helm stations provide excellent visibility and intuitive push-button sail controls, ensuring straightforward handling under sail.
The aft deck offers additional lounging and social areas, including bench seating, a generous triple sunpad and a secondary alfresco dining arrangement. For water access, the folding transom transforms into a spacious swim platform with bathing ladder, creating an ideal connection to the sea.
Inside, the deck saloon is bright and welcoming with panoramic 360-degree views through large windows and skylights. Satin-finished light oak flooring combined with American walnut cabinetry creates a warm, contemporary interior. The saloon can be arranged as either a relaxed lounge area or formal dining space, complemented by an internal helm station that can also function as a stylish bar.
Accommodation is arranged for up to eight guests in four cabins. The layout includes a full-beam owner’s suite, a double cabin, a convertible guest cabin and an additional en-suite cabin that can also serve as a TV lounge. Separate crew and guest areas ensure privacy and efficient onboard operations.
PATEA delivers impressive sailing performance thanks to her Southern Spars carbon rig and advanced sail-handling systems, including in-boom mainsail furling and an asymmetric masthead spinnaker. Powered by a 435hp Volvo Penta engine, she reaches speeds of up to 12 knots and offers a cruising range of approximately 2,200 nautical miles at 10 knots. Her 3.7m fin keel balances performance with access to a wide range of cruising grounds.
Recognised early in her career with the ‘Charter Yacht of the Year’ award at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2012, PATEA stands out as a modern performance cruiser offering both capability and comfort for adventurous sailing.
